Alex Scott is a £100m transfer waiting to happen — "the complete package" according to the England manager Thomas Tuchel. Bournemouth will consider allowing him to leave in January for a fee rising to £100million provided the club’s Premier League status isn’t in jeopardy. Liverpool will be viewed as leading contenders, given Andoni Iraola’s existing relationship with Scott, who is also highly regarded by other senior figures within the club. But it’s not that simple. It's hard to see how Arsenal could justify doing anything in the short term, given their current midfield options, but they certainly shouldn’t be discounted from making a move at the end of the season. Scott is a player they admire. In the eyes of many, Chelsea will be at the front of the queue in January, mindful that they had a bid rejected for Scott in the summer.
