Manchester United are expected to announce Michael Carrick's departure as manager imminently, possibly before facing Chelsea.

A newer card replaced this one — prices are frozen.

Polymarket when the story was published: Chelsea 49% · Draw 26% · Man United 27%

The fans at Old Trafford sang his name, and there seems to be little personal animosity towards Michael Carrick the man, but there were also boos before half-time and a broad recognition that this can’t go on. It would be a bit of a surprise if there wasn’t an announcement on Sunday night. Perhaps on Monday morning. If he’s still in place for their next game, against Chelsea next Saturday, it will be astonishing. There will be plenty of talk about Carrick not being the biggest problem at United, that getting rid of him will not solve everything. But just because it won’t solve everything doesn’t mean it won’t solve some things, writes @NickMiller79 ⬇️ 🔗
