Premier League panel rules Cole Palmer should have been shown a straight red card during Chelsea's 2-0 loss to Tottenham.

Cole Palmer should have been shown a straight red card for violent conduct in Chelsea's 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, the Premier League’s Key Match Incidents (KMI) Panel has ruled. Palmer was booked for a 70th-minute shove on Spurs midfielder Mateus Fernandes in the London derby, and later received a second yellow card for a challenge on Conor Gallagher. “The majority felt that Palmer’s action on Fernandes was clear contact to the head as well as unnecessary, dangerous and made with excessive force,” read the panel’s decision, released on Wednesday.
